Bing Knows What Users Want – Control

Posted: May 15, 2012 in Uncategorized

Why is Bing gaining market share?  You didn’t know this? Yep, they now have 30% of all internet searches (15/15 Bing/Yahoo)

And this market share is going to grow at a rapid rate – why do I think so?

Because Google is not the search engine company they used to be. Google no longer gives you unbiased search results. They mine you emails, your friends emails, your Google+ friends and comments and then weigh those results to give you your search result.

Q:  What value does Google add to their searches if they are taking your friends opinions and weighing in?  Can’t you just ask your circle of friends? I bet you already have and what you likely want is to wow, your friends with something new – That WAS Google, now that’s Bing!

Bing is rolling out their new “metrofied” search results page. It divides your search results into 3 sections; Raw search results, adverts and finally social networking.  Not just your Facebook friends, but people who also belong to Facebook and have an opinion on the matter.

You are not forced to interact with anyone. All you have to do is glance to the right of your screen and decide if you care. If you don’t, then keep you focus on the main part of the page and concentrate on the pure search results.

For those people who remember Bing from 1-2 years ago, Bing is new and improved and many people who are techies are switching from Google (post Google+) to Bing.  Don’t believe it? Try the new Bing for 7 days and see for yourself.
